Warranty & Repairs

All Bonny Bay jewellery comes with a 3-month warranty covering manufacturing defects for both our handcrafted and manufactured pieces. The warranty is void if the item has been misused, altered, or damaged due to improper care.

Our Warranty Covers:

• Manufacturing faults such as:
• Broken clasps due to a fault in the spring mechanism.
• Loose or missing stones (with no signs of impact, bent prongs, or damage to the metal).
• A fault caused by human error during the crafting process.

Our Warranty Does Not Cover:

The following are not covered under warranty:

• Chain breakages, stretched, or bent chains.
• Bent or broken earring posts or clasps.
• Dents, scratches, chipping, or worn plating.
• Tarnishing or discolouration.
• Lost items.
• Repairs or modifications made by third parties.
• Damage caused by misuse, accidents, pulling, catching, general wear and tear, or not following our Jewellery Care Instructions.

Manufactured Chains:

Chain breakages are not covered under warranty, as this type of damage is considered general wear and tear. While our chains are made to be strong, they are not unbreakable and can be affected by everyday movement, tension, or accidental snags.

Breaks are rarely spontaneous — what often happens is:

• A small snag or tug weakens a link.
• The chain appears fine, but the stress point remains.
• Later, it gives way during regular wear, and the original pull isn’t always remembered.

We always recommend storing and handling your jewellery gently, avoiding snags, and following our Jewellery Care Instructions to prevent unnecessary stress on your pieces.

If you’re unsure whether your piece qualifies for a warranty claim, please contact us with clear photos and proof of purchase. Our team will be happy to review your item.

Bonny Bay Jewellery Care Guide

Your Bonny Bay jewellery is made to be loved and worn, but all pieces require care to keep them looking their best. Following these instructions will help maintain the beauty and longevity of your jewellery — and ensures your warranty remains valid.

Rings

• Our sterling silver rings are crafted with care and should be handled gently to maintain their shine and structure.

Storage

• Store rings in a dry, safe place away from moisture, direct sunlight, and chemicals.
• Keep each piece in a separate pouch or box to avoid scratches.

Cleaning

• Use a soft silver polishing cloth to restore shine.
• Avoid using harsh cleaning solutions.
• Do not polish gold-plated rings excessively — this may cause the plating to wear away.

Wear

• Remove rings before swimming, showering, exercising, sleeping, or doing household chores.
• Avoid contact with perfumes, hairsprays, body lotions, salt water, and chlorinated water.
• Rings should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.
• Damage caused by impact, pulling, catching, or not following these care instructions is not covered under warranty.

Cuffs

• Cuffs are durable but can weaken if bent, stretched, or caught.

Storage

• Store cuffs in a jewellery box or pouch, away from heavy items that may press on them.

Cleaning

• Clean with a soft polishing cloth.
• Avoid abrasive cleaning products or excessive polishing on gold-plated cuffs.

Wear

• Slide cuffs on and off from the thinnest part of your wrist.
• Avoid bending or stretching cuffs — this can cause cracks or weaken stone settings.
• Keep away from chemicals, salt water, perfumes, and lotions.
• Damage from stretching, bending, catching, or not following care instructions is not covered under warranty.

Necklaces & Chains

• Our necklaces are beautiful but delicate — chains are strong, yet not unbreakable.

Storage

• Store necklaces flat or hanging to avoid tangles and kinks.
• Keep away from moisture and direct sunlight.

Cleaning

• Gently wipe with a soft cloth after each wear.
• Avoid excessive polishing on gold-plated chains.

Wear

• Remove before sleeping, swimming, showering, or exercising.
• Avoid catching chains on clothing, hair, or accessories.
• Keep away from perfumes, hairsprays, and lotions.
• Chain breakages caused by pulling, catching, tension, or not following these care instructions are not covered under warranty.

Earrings

• Earrings are delicate and should be worn and stored with care.

Storage

• Store in a dry, safe place and keep pairs together.
• Avoid storing where they can be crushed or scratched.

Cleaning

• Wipe gently with a soft cloth after wearing.
• Avoid soaking in water or using harsh cleaners.

Wear

• Put earrings on after applying perfume, hairspray, or makeup.
• Remove before sleeping, swimming, showering, or exercising.
• Due to hygiene reasons, earrings cannot be returned or exchanged unless deemed faulty under our warranty.

General Care Tips for All Jewellery

• Avoid exposing jewellery to water, chemicals, perfumes, lotions, and hairsprays.
• Always store jewellery in a dry place when not in use.
• Handle with care — pulling, catching, or bending can cause permanent damage that is not covered under our warranty.
• Tarnishing is a natural reaction of metals when exposed to moisture, chemicals, and body oils. Regular cleaning with a polishing cloth can help maintain shine.
